Quick answer: Albania’s legal minimum wage is ALL 50,000 gross a month in 2026 (about €545), and the national average is about ALL 90,000 gross (about €980). Warehouse, factory, cleaning and hotel jobs offered to foreign workers usually pay €550 to €900 a month – roughly ₹60,000 to ₹1 lakh – and most employers also give free accommodation, and often meals, which is why workers can save a good part of the salary.
Below you will find salaries by job (warehouse, cleaner, housekeeping, factory, construction, hotel), what is deducted, the value in rupees, how much you can realistically save and how the Albanian work permit works for Indians.
Albania has become one of the fastest-growing job destinations for Indian workers in Europe. Tourism, food processing and construction are expanding, local workers are moving to Italy and Germany, and employers are recruiting abroad to fill the gap. But most job adverts only say “good salary”. This guide gives real 2026 numbers – official statistics plus the salaries in the Albania vacancies we currently handle – so you can judge an offer before you pay anyone anything.

Warehouse job salary in Albania per month
Warehouse, packing and canning-factory jobs are the most common entry route. In the factory vacancies we handle in Tirana, packers, cleaners and conveyor operators receive a minimum of €550 a month, work 5 days a week in 8–10 hour shifts, and get lunch every day (dinner on night shifts), food packages and a free uniform. Overtime and night shifts increase the monthly total.
Because the minimum wage is ALL 50,000 (about €545), a warehouse offer below roughly €540 gross for full-time work is a warning sign. Forklift drivers and experienced warehouse staff can earn more than entry-level pickers.
Cleaner and housekeeping salary in Albania
Cleaning is the second big category, and also the one people search for most (“Albania salary for cleaner”). Current offers look like this:
- Cleaning staff: ALL 60,000 – 80,000 net a month, paid officially to a bank card; Monday–Saturday, 09:00–17:00; overtime paid; free shared accommodation (2–3 people per room, separate sector for women).
- Hotel and municipal cleaners in Durrës: €550 – €1,000 a month plus tips, depending on the type of work; 6 days a week with a floating day off; free on-site accommodation and uniform.
Hotel housekeeping pay is seasonal in coastal towns such as Durrës, Vlorë and Sarandë: the summer season brings more hours and tips, so ask whether the contract is year-round or seasonal before you accept.
Construction and factory worker salary
Skilled and semi-skilled construction workers (masons, tilers, steel fixers, helpers) are typically offered ALL 50,000 – 60,000 net a month plus accommodation and meals, on contracts of around 24 months, with overtime paid. Experienced tradespeople with certificates can negotiate more. Food-processing and production workers earn in the same range as warehouse staff.
Gross vs net: what is deducted from an Albanian salary?
Albanian payroll deductions are low compared with Western Europe:
- Social and health insurance (employee share): 11.2% of gross pay (9.5% social insurance + 1.7% health insurance), deducted by the employer.
- Income tax: salaries up to ALL 50,000 a month are tax-free. Above that, 13% is charged on the part of the salary above roughly ALL 30,000–35,000, and 23% only on income above ALL 200,000 a month.
Example: on the minimum wage of ALL 50,000 gross you pay no income tax, only 11.2% insurance, so you take home about ALL 44,400 (≈ €480 / ₹53,000). Many vacancy adverts already quote the net salary – always ask whether a figure is gross or net.
How much can you save working in Albania?
Albania is one of the cheapest countries in Europe, and the biggest cost – rent – is usually covered by the employer for foreign workers. If accommodation is free and at least one meal is provided, a worker typically spends €150 – €250 a month on food, phone and transport. On a €600 – €800 salary, that leaves roughly €350 – €600 (about ₹38,000 – ₹66,000) to save or send home each month.
Without free accommodation, a shared room or small flat in Tirana usually costs a few hundred euros a month, which changes the picture completely. Compare offers on savings, not on salary alone.
Albania vs Serbia vs Poland: which pays better?
Albanian salaries are lower than in Poland, and similar to or slightly below Serbia, but Albania often offers free accommodation and an easier permit process for non-EU workers. Poland is an EU and Schengen country and pays more, but costs are higher and processing can take longer. See our Serbia salary per month guide for Serbian pay by job. Work permit and visa for Indians in Albania
Albania is not in the EU or the Schengen area and runs its own system under the Law on Foreigners. For employment, foreign workers receive a Unique Permit (work and residence permit in one), applied for through the government portal e-Albania. The usual steps are:
- Signed job offer / employment contract from an Albanian employer.
- Employer files the work part of the application; you apply for a long-stay (type D) visa where required.
- Travel to Albania, register, and complete the residence part of the Unique Permit.
Typical documents are a passport valid for at least 12 months, CV, police clearance certificate, medical fitness certificate, photos and, for skilled jobs, experience certificates. Rules and fees can change, so always check the current requirements on official government websites before you travel.
How to spot a genuine Albania job offer
- The salary is at or above the minimum wage (ALL 50,000 gross) and paid officially to a bank account, not in cash.
- The contract names the employer, city, working hours, overtime rules and accommodation in writing.
- You can verify the company and the permit application – genuine employers apply through official channels.
- Nobody asks you to travel on a tourist visa and “convert” it later.
